About This Guide
This page defines the terms used consistently across the Cazmireqo website and service interface. Understanding these terms helps users navigate the review interface, interpret classification outputs, and communicate clearly with the support team.
Definitions reflect the way terms are used within the Cazmireqo context. In some cases, a term may have a different meaning in other technical or general contexts. Where a definition is specific to Cazmireqo, this is noted.
-
Category
A label assigned to a group of information items that share one or more detected characteristics. Categories form the primary organisational layer of the classification output. A category may contain sub-categories.
-
Category Hierarchy
The tree-like structure of categories and sub-categories produced by the classification engine. The hierarchy is displayed in the review interface, where users can expand or collapse individual branches to navigate between levels of detail.
-
Classification Engine
The component of the Cazmireqo service that processes submitted information and assigns category labels. The engine applies a rule set to each item in the submitted information set. The rule set is defined by the account configuration.
-
Classification Label
A descriptive tag assigned to an information item by the classification engine. Each item receives at least one label. Items that match the conditions of multiple rules may receive more than one label.
-
Classification Run
A single execution of the classification engine against a submitted information set. Each run produces a classification output that is then available in the review interface. A new run is triggered each time the user submits a new information set, or when the rule set is updated and reapplied.
-
Configuration
The settings applied to a specific account that define how the classification engine operates, which formats are accepted, what output types are available, and how the review interface is presented. Configurations are set at the time of access confirmation and may be adjusted by the support team on request.
-
Information Item
A discrete unit of information within a submitted set. The definition of an item depends on the format of the submission. In a text-based submission, an item might be a single document, a record, or a defined segment. The account configuration specifies how items are identified within a submission.
-
Pattern Detection
A secondary analysis function that identifies recurring structural patterns across the classified information set. Patterns may include items that consistently match conditions in multiple categories, or groups of items that appear together more frequently than expected. Pattern detection results are displayed separately from the main category hierarchy.
-
Review Interface
The part of the Cazmireqo service that users interact with after classification has run. The review interface displays the category hierarchy, allows users to navigate between categories and items, shows item-level detail including classification labels and matched rules, and surfaces pattern detection results.
-
Rule
A condition defined within the classification configuration that, when matched by an information item, causes that item to receive a specific classification label. Rules may specify keyword patterns, structural signals, or relational characteristics. The set of rules active in a session is called the rule set.
-
Rule Set
The complete collection of classification rules applied during a classification run. The rule set is part of the account configuration. Changes to the rule set take effect on the next classification run and do not retroactively alter previous outputs.
-
Session
A period of active use of the review interface following a classification run. Session state is preserved for a defined duration, after which the session expires. Users should retrieve any outputs they need before the session expires.
-
Session Summary
A concise record of a completed review session, including the number of categories produced, the total count of classified items, the number of items flagged as uncertain, and the time of the classification run. The session summary is available from within the review interface and can be included in the structured output.
-
Structured Output
A formatted export of classification results requested at the end of a review session. The structured output includes the category hierarchy, item-level labels, pattern detection findings, and the session summary. It does not include the original submitted information. The available output formats depend on the account configuration.
-
Sub-category
A category that sits within a parent category in the category hierarchy. Sub-categories are created when the classification engine identifies items within a category that share additional distinguishing characteristics. The depth of sub-categorisation depends on the rule set configuration.
-
Taxonomy
The overall structure of categories and sub-categories produced by a classification run. The taxonomy represents the organisation of the submitted information set as determined by the applied rule set. Each classification run produces a taxonomy specific to that run's inputs and configuration.
-
Uncertain Item
An information item that the classification engine could not assign to a category with sufficient confidence based on the active rule set. Uncertain items are grouped within the review interface and are flagged with a distinct indicator. Users can review uncertain items and, if needed, request rule set adjustments to improve classification coverage.
-
Unclassified
A default grouping within the category hierarchy that holds items that did not match any rule in the rule set. Unclassified items are not errors; they indicate that the rule set does not currently account for the characteristics of those items. Reviewing unclassified items can help identify patterns that warrant new classification rules.
